Voluntary Safeguarding Officer
The Nottinghamshire Girls and Ladies Football League is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Safeguarding Officer. This voluntary role is vital in ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants, particularly within our youth-focused football community.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with The FA’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
Provide advice and guidance to clubs and league members regarding safeguarding matters.
Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding issues within the league.
Assist with safeguarding training and education for coaches, players, and volunteers.
Respond to safeguarding concerns or incidents appropriately and promptly.
Maintain confidential records related to safeguarding matters.
Essential Requirements:
A genuine commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of The FA’s safeguarding policies and practices.
Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
Previous experience in safeguarding roles, ideally within football or a sporting context.
An understanding of the challenges faced by grassroots sports clubs and leagues.
