Voluntary Safeguarding Officer

The Nottinghamshire Girls and Ladies Football League is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Safeguarding Officer. This voluntary role is vital in ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants, particularly within our youth-focused football community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with The FA’s safeguarding policies and procedures.

  • Provide advice and guidance to clubs and league members regarding safeguarding matters.

  • Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding issues within the league.

  • Assist with safeguarding training and education for coaches, players, and volunteers.

  • Respond to safeguarding concerns or incidents appropriately and promptly.

  • Maintain confidential records related to safeguarding matters.

Essential Requirements:

  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of The FA’s safeguarding policies and practices.

  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in safeguarding roles, ideally within football or a sporting context.

  • An understanding of the challenges faced by grassroots sports clubs and leagues.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the safety and development of girls’ and women’s football within Nottinghamshire. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a safe and supportive environment for players and volunteers alike.
